Singapore ordinary passport holders whose first point of entry into the People’s Republic of China (PRC) is Hainan should note that there are two concurrent visa-exemption arrangements applicable to Hainan being administered by the PRC authorities.

Travellers intending to stay in Hainan only
Under Hainan’s Free Trade Port (FTP) Concessionary Policy, citizens from 59 countries including Singapore can enter Hainan for up to 30 days without a visa for the following purposes:
Commercial activities and trade
Visit and exchange
Family reunions
Medical treatment
Attending exhibitions
Taking part in sporting events
Other purposes, excluding work and study
Travellers opting for this arrangement need not fill in the PRC Immigration Arrival Card at point of entry. If travellers subsequently intend to travel out of Hainan to other areas in the PRC, please approach the Exit and Entry Administration Bureau in Hainan for facilitation. Travellers intending to travel beyond Hainan to other areas in the PRC
Under a mutual 30-day visa-exemption arrangement between Singapore and the PRC, Singapore ordinary passport holdersare exempted from visa requirements for a stay of up to 30 days in the PRC. For this option, travellers should fill in the PRC Immigration Arrival Card at point of entry.
Travellers who plan to travel to other areas in the PRC beyond Hainan may wish to opt for the greater flexibility of this arrangement.
