Global Lawyers Forum in Guangzhou from 8 to 10 December 2019

At the invitation of Chinese Minister for Justice Fu Zhenghua, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law K. Shanmugam attended the Global Lawyers Forum in Guangzhou from 8 to 10 December 2019 and delivered a keynote speech.  Minister Shanmugam had a meeting with Minister Fu, and both sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on legal cooperation. In addition, Minister Shanmugam visited the Guangzhou Museum to understand the thousand-year development history of Guangzhou as a commercial capital. During the trip, Minister Shanmugam also visited Shenzhen to attend the Belt and Road Roundtable Meeting, which was co-organised by the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.
