Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat’s Visit to Guangdong, from 26 to 28 May 2019

Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat visited Guangdong Province from 26 to 28 May 2019 as part of his visit to China.  In Guangzhou, DPM Heng met with Li Xi, Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, as well as Zhang Shuofu, Secretary of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee, to discuss bilateral cooperation between Singapore, Guangdong and Guangzhou, and the good progress on the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City following the upgrade to a State-level Bilateral Cooperation Project.  DPM Heng also visited the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City.


In Shenzhen, DPM Heng met with Wang Weizhong, Secretary of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, where they discussed cooperation between Singapore and Shenzhen on smart cities and education among others.  DPM Heng also visited some of the high-tech enterprises in Shenzhen to understand more about Shenzhen’s experience in science and technology, and innovation.
